Reading:
This week we focused on features of non-fiction books, such as headings, captions, table of contents, glossary, bold words, etc...

Writing:
We began a unit on "How-To" writing.  We learned how to plan each step across our fingers and to use the words first, next, and last.  We practiced writing the steps for how-to bake cookies all together at first. Then, we worked on writing the steps for how-to brush our teeth on our own.  We will continue to work on how-to writing next week!

Word Study:
We learned four different spellings for /er/.

Math:
This week in math, we focused on seeing teen numbers as a ten and extra ones.  We also focused on subtraction story problems.  Students used the tools in their math bins to solve them.  We learned how to label the partners and the total for the equations.
